05.05.10 Unemployed Ukrainians twice more than official statistics informs
The national forum of Ukrainian Trade Unions approve that the number of unemployed and salary debts are significantly more than official statistics informs.
The statement was made by the chairman of the National Forum of Trade Unions of Ukraine Miroslav Yakibchuk at a press conference in Kyiv on Wednesday.
"As for April 1, 2010, official statistics in Ukraine recognizes the existence of 2 million unemployed, of which 518.9 thousand recorded in the public service employment. However, the results of monitoring of the trade union, the actual number of unemployed is much higher and is approximately 4 mln.588 thousands 700 persons ", - said M. Yakibchuk.
According to M. Yakibchuk, unlike the official government bodies, monitoring system, a forum of trade unions take into account the number of unemployed who are not registered with the Employment Service, various forms of hidden unemployment - forced and unpaid leave, reduced working day.
M. Yakibchuk also reported that according to official figures the total salary arrears in the country of 2 billion UAH., While the monitoring data of the Forum of Trade Unions, it is 2,5 - 3 billion USD.
