28.07.10 Ukrainians will be easier to go to Germany
Documents that Ukrainians serve in diplomatic establishments of Germany, will take a simplified procedure for checking. Germany's ambassador Hans Jurgen Gaymzet informed that consular legalization of documents for citizens of Ukraine is abolished.
Soon, the authenticity of papers will be certified by a special stamp - Apostille - in a relevant department. For example, a certificate of registration of residence - in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the marriage certificate - in the Ministry of Justice.
This simplified system is valid for all member countries of the Hague Convention, 1961.
We remind the international Hague Convention of 1961, which replaces the complex consular legalization for public documents in the simplified procedure by affixing a special stamp "Apostille", entered into force for Ukraine on 22 December 2003.
Now around 100 countries also joined to the convention.
From all the States-members of the Convention, only Germany had opposed the accession of Ukraine allegedly because of the large number of forged or counterfeit documents, which are served in the Ukrainian diplomatic institutions in Germany.
